Its almost 6 months since I launched my first free WordPress plugin bbP Signature. My academics and college kept me away from contributing to open source. Now that I’m free I’ve tagged *v1.0* to the official WordPress repository!

This plugin primarily allows users to post user signatures below their topics or replies on bbPress 2.0 powered forums. Since the first release quite a few testings and bug fixes have been made for better adaptability of plugin for a better user experience.

I’ve got a few requests to add bbcodes functionality to the plugin. Basically there are a quite a few plugins already available in the WordPress Plugin repository to achieve this functionality.

For adding bbcodes support for bbP Signature you can use this beautiful plugin, which will add the bbcode capability to topic creation, forum replies and everything related to bbPress. Once this plugin is installed bbcodes will be accepted by bbP Signature plugin as well!

The above screenshot shows bbcode added to signature edit field, and the following screenshot shows its result.

There are currently a few things in the to-do list for the plugin.

First priority is for adding BuddyPress compatibilty.
